I haven't disappeared.

It's been a while since I have written a blog post. Well, that's not exactly true-it's been a while since I published a post. I have several drafts of posts in this folder that I started to write but never finished. Some things are difficult to write about.

My mother passed away.

I had been living with her and caring for her while she fought cancer the last few years. Now that the battle is over, our lives are changing. Moving, selling the house, sorting out her belongings-all the usual things are keeping us very busy just now.

So, I haven't disappeared. I'm just dealing with one of the more difficult things in life.

My sincere sympathy. When my mother died, I felt as if my life's anchor had been cut loose and I was on my own and adrift.

Give yourself time to grieve and cherish the memories you shared with your mother. Blessings to you and your family.

I am sorry about your loss, Ari. Struck too about how much of yourself you still found to share through your support of afghans For Afghans while you were caring for your mother and living through painful times. Thank you.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My own dear mother lost her 3-year battle with cancer in November of 2005. I still miss her, but time does help to heal and then we enjoy all the wonderful memories.

I'm sorry to read that your mother has passed away. Dealing with the emotions in additional to the work that has to be done with selling the house must be overwhelming for you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
